Anthropod series

Anthropod series - acrylic on paper (2018-2019)

The anthropod paintings’ shape is one that I've been working over and over for a number of years, first in oil pastels, in pencil crayon, and in acrylics. The shape has been described as a handbag handle or antennae with eyes, but it has no anthropomorphic meaning to me. I like the way the brush moves when apply the paint. It feel rich and playful at the same time.
